Fjällräven - Waxed Alternatives to Fluorocarbons (2015)

In 2015, Fjällräven became one of the first outdoor brands to fully eliminate PFAS, replacing fluorocarbons with Greenland Wax, a paraffin and beeswax blend, and Bionic-Finish® ECO on select fabrics. 
The transition began with a 2012 corporate ban and was verified by third-party audits. While the wax requires periodic reapplication, customers embraced it as a fair trade for transparency and safety.
